  • An initial conversation between trainer and participant to build rapport, clarify expectations, and introduce the flow of the program.

  • Setting the tone with participants by establishing shared purpose, learning norms, and a constructive environment for growth and development.

  • Overview of the community engagement framework, introducing the core practices of leadership and how to shift community from disorganisation to organisation.
    (100 minutes)

  • Learn how to develop local leadership and improve their effectiveness through the practice of coaching, and facilitate growth through a simple five-step process.
    (90 minutes)

  • Understanding your community needs, resources, and purpose; setting share goals; and developing a plan of action.
    (180 minutes)

  • Crafting a personal story that articulates your values, draws on emotional resources, builds trust and strengthens relationships with constituents.

  • Exploring shared values and experiences to craft a story of connection within a community.

  • Connecting personal and shared stories to address timely local issue, demonstrating why engagement matters today.

  • Developing skills for meaningful conversations that identify values, interests, and opportunities for collaboration.

  • Planning and facilitating small group meetings to hear from constituents and build networks of support.

  • Creating collaborative structures within the community and with local leadership to support ongoing engagement.

  • Designing practical steps and a timeline for upcoming community initiatives.

  • Learning how to secure commitments, mobilise community resources, and ensure successful outcomes
